About the Organisation:
Our client is an industrial leader in compressors, expanders, air treatment systems, construction, mining equipment, power tools and assembly systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• supporting the IS/IT infrastructure service team in different tasks:
o secure and improve the overall quality, efficiency and availability of the network and datacenter infrastructure
o 2nd and 3rd level service delivery of client’s ASAP’s customers within the region
o providing datacenter and network capacity
o ensuring IT service level management for strategic outsourcing agreements
o safeguarding the daily operations while supporting the service desk and operations through a 2nd level escalation derived from incident management, tasks within the 2nd level problem resolution are executed while even 3rd level problem management is performed with the strategic partners of client.
• in reference to infrastructure components and common applications the following tasks have to be considered from an ITIL perspective:
o incident management on 2nd level supporting service desk & operations
o problem management on 2nd and 3rd level
o change management
o release management
o project delivery as project team member
o project management tasks
Key Requirements:
• good command of English (daily use of written and spoken form); other language skills an advantage
• practical experience in IT/ IS systems, especially focusing on infrastructure components like servers, local area networks and datacenter aspects:
o Windows Server family is necessary
• also in some of these areas:
o Windows SQL server family
o experience in citrix server family
o experience in virtualization technologies (i.e. VMWare)
o network design, both passive and active components
o fundamentals of TCP/ IP
o experience in IP telephony and VoIP
o familiarity with ITIL is an advantage
• experience in service desk is preferred
• MCSE or at least selected areas are preferred
• Cisco CCNA, with experience in IPTel is desirable
• VMWare VCP Certification advantages
• genuine interest in technical aspects
• ability to work independently, innovative, possess good communication skills and be self-motivated
• positive attitude and ability to solve problems under coaching and training
