About the Organisation:
This organisation is one of the world’s leading logistics and non-asset based supply chain management companies with a global presence in over 60 countries. They are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to manage their Contract Logistics accounts in China while providing them a solutions-based service. This position can either be based from Singapore or sits in Shanghai.
Key Responsibilities:
• data analysis: ability to work through and analyse client data to be able to build a solution given a certain set of assumptions
• solution design: given the data analysis, the ability to work out space, MHE, WMS
• solution costing: given the solution, design the ability to cost using an array of techniques (cost plus, fixed / variable, activity based)
• BD vs. Solution split: 50% BD and 50% Solutions (i.e. this person should be able to compile their own solution and price accordingly.)
• proposal: ability to write up the technical solution aspects of the proposal and support overall proposal write up
• sales pipeline / target: build and manage a robust sales pipeline that both credible and transparent; meeting the required sales targets
• presentation: present solution in front of executive management teams in a professional and competent manner
• implementation: oversee handover from sales to implementation through AGP session and kick start project team
• networking: build relationship networks within client teams, consultants, land developers / agents and suppliers. Ability to tie in with country specific solution teams
• knowledge management: document, reuse, distribute, share and enable use of technical documents, case studies, areas of expertise (i.e. packaging), technical brochures
• cross functional support: ability to support internal cross divisional solutions / teams in end to end solutions
Key Requirements:
• preferably degree qualified in Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering
• post graduate studies would be an advantage; three to five years’ business development / sales experience including solutions
• contract logistics experience
• attention to detail: ability to build in traceability and self audit process in terms of solution assumptions and workings
• knowledge of RFQ and Tender procedures
• knowledge of warehousing (both operational and strategic)
• working knowledge of various costing methods and cost drivers (fixed / variable / activity)
• ability to conserve with clients and articulate their exact requirements and needs
• good presentation and proposal writing skills
• candidates must be willing to travel
