Legal Counsel

This position would report directly to the Head of the China Region with a dotted line to the Corporate Legal Counsel. A new opening role is in charge of the overall legal matters in china. My client would be the market leader in the pharma industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Be responsible for all legal matters and daily compliance consultations arising in the operation of business in China region, focus on being a trusted business partner from legal perspective for key internal stakeholders and other assigned areas
• Manage complex legal issues with minimal oversight and guidance from corporate legal and provide counseling to internal business partners. Exercises some latitude in determining objectives and approaches to key assignments, in consultation with Corporate Legal
• Assists the business in developing strategy and achieving objectives
• Main tasks (with percentage, occupation, this may vary according to the requirements of business)
• Work as business partner by providing professional and practical solution to business from both legaland compliance perspective in China region.Provide legal advice and doable solutions to line of business in broad range of areas including anti
• corruption laws, pharma law, commercial law, employment law, compliance policy, product liability, risk

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor of law or above
• P.R.C Bar admission Qualification or admission to an equivalent overseas bar
• Overseas legal education or working experience preferred
• Minimum of 5-7 years working experience either as legal professional in multinational companies/international law firms; or renown local law firms or working experience responsible for cross-border affiliates legal and compliance matters
• Substantial/solid knowledge of legal and compliance related laws and regulations. Working experience as legal professional within pharmaceutical/healthcare industry is preferred
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of legal concepts, principle and practices; broadly applying them to a wide range of complex business cases
