Assistant Buyer

Calculates item sales projections and regional distribution based on prior performance of similar item.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyzes item freight costs by region and figures sell pricing and margins. Forecasts and tracks debit balances. Compares actual return dollars to spoils allowance
• Communicates with Vendors by phone, e-mail, and in person regarding item, order, or delivery problems. Facilitates the smooth flow of items to nation-wide warehouse club outlets. Uses computer to research Vendor claims
• Communicates with regional offices and Depots by phone, e-mail, and in person regarding distribution, replenishment, quantity, status, price, delivery, and promotion of merchandise
• Shops the market and performs other research to maintain current knowledge of technology and trends and to identify market direction
• Travels 2-5 times per year to attend trade shows, location openings, regional meetings, factory tours, and other business meetings

Key Requirements:

• Education/Training: College diploma or Bachelor preferred
• Experience: Company management, Company ICS, or related industry equivalent experience required
• Knowledge/Skills: Computer skills, Multi-tasking, time management, and negotiation skills preferred
• Fluent written & verbal English and Chinese required
• Market knowledge preferred
